About Me
I am a storyteller. I’m passionate about travel. And I have kids!
I started my travel career as a British Airways stewardess (1996-2007), exploring new countries, having a lot of fun, and studying when I could. In 2003, I graduated with a degree in New Media Journalism and Photography from the London College of Music and Media, University of West London, having completed two exciting work placements at Condé Nast Traveller and The Big Issue. After turning in my wings in 2007, I completed a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) in English and Media Studies, and a Masters of Education, both from Exeter University, before returning to my hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Since then, I have been a food and travel writer for Lonely Planet, Family Fun Canada, Eat North, Time Out, CBC Life, Fodor’s, The Chronicle Herald (Saltwire Network), Our Children Magazine, and The Globe and Mail. In 2021, I began sharing my stories on radio and morning television. Finally, I am the author of a new guide book: 25 Family Adventures in Nova Scotia (Formac, 2021, second edition: 2024). You can view some of my stories on Contently, Muck Rack, or here.
